DHAKA: War crimes investigation agency finalized its probe report against Jamaat-e-Islami nayeb-e-ameer Abdus Subhan and found nine charges of crimes against humanity committed during the country’s liberation war in 1971.
The investigators will submit the report to the prosecution on Sunday as it is the scheduled day of the final report submission.
Chief of the investigation agency Mohammad Abdul Hannan Khan came up with the disclosure at a press conference in his Dhanmondi office at around 11:00am Saturday.
Senior member of the main investigation team Sanaul Haque and the investigators of the case Motiur Rahman and Md Nur Hussein were present during the time.
Investigation against Subhan had started on April 15 and finished on September 12.
Abdul Hannan Khan said charges of different types of crimes including genocide, murder, torture, arson, abduction, loot, confinement and conspiracy were brought against Abdus Subhan.
On September 20 in 2012, Sobhan was arrested following a warrant issued against him by a Pabna court.
Later, he was shown arrested in the case of committing crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
According to the prosecution, Sobhan was the Pabna chapter Jamaat Ameer just before the liberation war and had formed Peace Committee, Al-Badr and Razakar (collaborating forces) in his locality and committed crimes against humanity there.
