BRAHMANBARIA: A minor was killed as a boat capsized in Titas river at Nabinagar upazila of the district on Sunday noon.

The deceased was identified as Habil Akhtar, 2, daughter of Jahirul Islam of Khariyala village.

Sources said an engine driven boat capsized in Madrasaghat area of the river around 11:45am and the victim drowned.

Nabinagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abu Shahed Chowdhury told banglanews: “The boat capsized in the area with 80/90 passengers that left a minor missing.”

Later, the body was recovered from the river, he added.
