BARISAL: A man chopped his wife to death and slit the throat of their three-month-old daughter with lethal weapons in Pangsha area under Babuganj upazila of the district early Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Shukhi Begum 25, wife of killer Khokon Hawlader and their only daughter Aklima.

Delwara Begum, step mother of Khokon, said that Khokon left home in early morning keeping his wife and daughter locked inside the room. On suspicion, they informed police.

Sources said the incident might have taken place due to family feud as Khokon sent his wife and daughter to in-law’s house four months ago over the reason.

Later, he brought them back on Wednesday afternoon.

On information, police recovered the body and sent to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Barisal Metropolitan Airport Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
