DHAKA: Some nine policemen, including an officer-in-charge were sued for their alleged involvement in giving death threat to a lawyer.

The accused are OC Salah Uddin, Sub-Inspector Sanwar Hossain, SM Idris, Yusuf, Kazi Sijuddin, Ali Azam, Kazi Nasir Uddin, Shipan and Constable Abdul Latif.

Advocate Sheikh Abdul Wahid, resident of Mirpur, filed the case with Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court.

Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibual Haque directed authorities concerned to look into the matter for judicial investigation.

The case statement reads that, on September 2, the accused threatened the lawyer to kill him if he does not withdraw a case over a land dispute.

On August 29, defendant’s wife filed a case with magistrate court over land dispute with Constable Abdul Latif and his relatives.
