ASHULIA, DHAKA: At least 70 people were injured in sporadic clashes between garments workers and police in Ashulia and Gazipur on Wednesday morning.

In Gazipur, workers of some garments blocked highway in the Panishal area and vandalized vehicles.

A clash erupted when police obstructed them. Workers hurled brick chips aiming police and police fired rubber bullets- tear shells to disperse them, leaving at least 50 people, including two police constables.

In Ashulia, RMG workers vandalized few factories in Narasinghopur area and barricaded highway. Here at least 20 workers were injured as police charged baton to disperse them.
