SAVAR, DHAKA: Two people were killed and five others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Baliarpur area of the district on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Salam, 38 and Rahman, 40.

Witnesses said a Dhaka-bound passenger bus knocked roadside dividers and rammed a taxicab as its driver lost control over the steering and another bus coming from opposite direction ran over the cab, leaving seven people critically injured.

Locals rushed the injured to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital where two people succumbed to injuries.

Confirming the matter Savar Model Thana Officer-in-Charge Mostafa Kamal told banglanews that police seized the vehicles.
