DHAKA: The government has approved the list of government holidays for 22 days in 2014.

The approval came from a cabinet meeting held at secretariat on Thursday with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

After the meeting, cabinet secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan told journalists that 14 days in 2014 are general holiday and eight days from the executive order.

Besides, the government officials and workers can take 3-day casual leave, if they want, he added.

There were 22 days of government holidays also in 2013.
