KAMALNAGAR, LAXMIPUR: A woman and her young daughter allegedly committed suicide by drinking poison in Charjagobondhu area under Kamalnagar upazila of the district on Friday noon.

The deceased were identified as Bakul Begum, 42, wife of Momin Ullah and their daughter Tania, 18.

Sources said that Bakul Begum and Tania allegedly drank poison following an altercation with Momin Ullah over marriage of Tania.

They were rushed to Upazila Health Complex in critical condition. Later they died on way to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital.

Kamalnagar Thana Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Abdul Jabbar confirmed the matter to banglanews.
