ISHWARDI, PABNA: Two children drowned in a pond in Baghhachhla under the upazila on Friday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Sumaiya Khatun, 3, daughter of Jahurul Islam and Chhanda Khatun, 3, daughter of Selim Hossain of the area.

Sources said that Sumaiya and Chhanda were playing on the bank of a pond nearing their house. At one stage they fell into the pond and drowned.

Their bodies were found after hour-long frantic search.
