Manikganj: A housewife was killed allegedly by her husband at village Gopalkhali in Sadar upazila on Tuesday afternoon following family feuds.

Meanwhile, police arrested the victim’s husband, Habibur Rahman, 56, Wednesday following a case filed by their son.

Quoting family members, police said Rahman had an altercation with his wife Rahiman Begum, 46, in the afternoon over a trifling matter.

“At one stage of the quarrel, he hit Rahiman on the head with iron rod, leaving her seriously injured. She died on way to hospital,” said an eyewitness account of the homicide.

Rahman, during interrogation, told police that he had a conflict with his wife as she developed an illicit affair with their neighbour Anisur Rahman Lablu.

Despite repeated advice, she never paid heed to Rahman that made him angry and he hit Rahiman, the accused said.
