2,080kg Hilsa seized in Benapole

BENAPOLE, JESSORE: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 2,080 kilogram Hilsa fish from Sadipur area on Benapole frontier of the district early Saturday.

Jessore BGB-26 battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Matiur Rahman told banglanews, “Acting on tip-off BGB personnel in a drive seized the huge Hilsha fishes from Sadipur village while being smuggled into India.

Meanwhile, sensing the presence of BGB personnel, smugglers fled the scene.

Later, BGB men seized a truck-loaded with 2080kg Hilsa fishes worth Tk 62.40 lakh.
