Owner Izharul, 11 others sued

CHITTAGONG: Police filed two separate cases against 12 persons including Mufti Izharul Islam Chowdhury under explosives act and acid control act with Khulsi Thana of the port city on Tuesday over Monday blasts.

Confirming the matter, additional deputy commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) M Shahidullah told banglanews, “A case was filed mentioning 12 names under explosives act and two persons in a case under acid control act. Some unnamed persons were also made plaintiff in both cases.”

Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector of Detective Branch Santosh Chakma told banglanews that while conducting a drive, they recovered a fresh hand grenade from Lalkhan Bazar Madrasa of Mufti Izharul Islam at round 11.30am Tuesday.

Mufti Izharul Islam Chowdhury is the Nayeb-e-amir of Hefajat-e-Islam.
