KISHOREGANJ: A man was killed and 25 others injured in a fierce clash between two groups near Dillir Akhra Ghop area at Mithamain upazila of the district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Kamal Bhuiyan, 30, hailed from Kadamchal Purbapara area of the upazila.

The injured however, couldn’t be identified immediately and they were admitted to Habiganj District Sadar Hospital and Astagram Upazila Health Complex.

Local sources said the clash erupted between Jamal Miah group and Muslim Miah group near Kadamchaal area centering supremacy in a Jaalmahal in the morning.  

Both groups locked into clash with homemade weapons, leaving Kamal Bhuiyan died on the spot and at least 25 people injured from both sides.

Confirming the matter Astagram Circle Assistant Police Super Jamal Uddin said, “Police forces were sent in the area to avert further untoward situation.”
