BAGERHAT: A wife slaughtered her husband and also tried to commit suicide in Rampal of the district on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Siraj Sheikh, 37, son of Bilat Sheikh.

Sources said that Halima Begam, wife of Siraj, slaughtered him, leaving him critically injured and later he died on the way to hospital.

Meanwhile, Halima tried to commit suicide drinking pesticide and was sent to Upazila Health Complex.

Confirming the matter, Rampal Thana Officer-in-Charge Kazi Daud told banglanews, “The killing was caused over family crisis.”
