Three people died while undergoing treatment at the Covid unit of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in 24 hours till 8am on Sunday (Oct 31).

The deceased were identified as Shahida Begum, 45, of Phulpur upazila in Mymensingh, Nur Hossain, 60, of Ishwarganj and Zahera Khatun, 100, of Barhatta in Netrokona.

All of them died of coronavirus-like symptoms, said Dr Mohiuddin Khan Moon, focal person of the hospital's Covid unit.

He also said: "58 patients are undergoing treatment in the Corona ward of the hospital including 12 new patients. One of them is now in ICU. Besides, six people have recovered and left the hospital.”

Out of 54 samples, one tested positive in the last 24 hours in MMCH, said Civil Surgeon Dr Nazrul Islam.
