Four members of a family, including children, were burnt in a gas explosion following cylinder gas leakage at a flat in capital’s Mugda area on Monday morning.

The injured are Sudhangshu Buddha (35), his wife Priyanka Baroi (32), their only son Arup Buddha (5) and mother-in-law Shefali Rani Baroi (55).

They have been admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Doctors said all of them are in critical condition. 

Confirming the matter, Jamal Uddin Mir, officer-in-charge of Mugda police station, said that the fire incident might have taken place following a gas cylinder leakage.
