Nazrul Islam Mithu and Nurul Islam Hasib have been elected president and general secretary of Dhaka Reporters unity (DRU) respectively for the next one year.

Besides, SMA Kalam, senior correspondent of Banglanews has been elected Finance Secretary.

Other elected office bearers are: vice president Osman Gani Babul, joint secretary Shahnaj Sharmeen, organizing secretary Abdullah Al Kafi, women affairs secretary Tapashi Rabyea Akhi, publicity and publication secretary Kamal Uddin Sumon, sports secretary Maksuda Lisa, cultural secretary Nadia Sharmin, welfare secretary Kamruzzaman Babul.

Two candidates--IT and training secretary Kamal Mosharef and hospitality secretary Mohammad Akhteruzzaman have been elected uncontested.

The DRU election voting began at 9am and continued till 5pm without any break.
