A fire broke out at a Square Pharmaceuticals factory in Gazipur's Kaliakoir upazila on Monday (May 23).

The fire originated inside the factory's newly-introduced large-volume parenteral unit around 12:30 pm.

Kaliakoir Fire Service and Civil Defence's warehouse inspector Saiful Islam confirmed the matter.

On information, eight firefighting units are working to douse the flames, he said.

No casualties were reported, he said, adding that the reason behind the fire and the damages caused could not be known immediately.
