Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-3) arrested two drug peddlers along with 2,860 pieces of yaba tablets in capital's Sutrapur.

The arrestees are identified as Moazzem Hossain, 67, and Khaleda Akter Baby, 65.

They were arrested after conducting a search at the temporary check post set up in front of the National Medical Institute Hospital under Sutrapur Thana on Sunday (Sep 18).

RAB-3 Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Farzana Haque confirmed the matter.

She said on a tip-off, two people were arrested with yaba tablets by setting up a temporary check post.

The detainees had been bringing yaba tablets from Cox's Bazar for a long time and selling it in different places of the capital, said Farzana, adding legal action is being prepared against them.
