DHAKA: Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman Anwar Hoassain Manju on Monday said his party would take part in the upcoming general elections.
“We will take part in the upcoming general elections either BNP takes part or not,” he said.
The former minister came up with the assertion while talking to journalists after a view exchange meeting with 14-party representatives.
He said, “The polls must be held due to constitutional obligation. It is not fact who takes part in polls or not.”
Awami League Presidium Member Mohammad Nasim said, “We are agreed with JP. The polls will be held under Sheikh Hasina. There will not be any compromise in this regard.”
