DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday placed one-day remand to central committee general secretary of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) Habibur Rashid Habib for police interrogation in a case with Ramna Thana.

Metropolitan Magistrate Keshab Chandra Roy passed the order when police produced him before the court with a 10-day remand plea.

Earlier, police filed a case against him for his alleged involvement in torching vehicles, obstructing police in discharging their duties and explosives act case.

On Sunday, DB police arrested the general secretary of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, the student wing of opposition BNP, from his Shantinagor residence in the city. Later, he was taken to DB office.
