NOAKHALI: District Chhatra Shibir called a half-day hartal (shutdown) for Sunday in the district protesting the death of their activist Mahmudul Hossain.

Central Committee member Zakir Hossain Selim announced the programme from a protest rally at the Bazar area of Chatkhil upazila on Thursday afternoon.

On October 28, Shibir activist Mahmudul Hossain sustained bullet-injuries in a clash with law enforcers and 18-party activists at Chatkhil upazila and later died.

In protest of the death, Shaibir called the hartal.
