DHAKA: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed on Tuesday said there is a scope of announcing polls schedule again if there is any consensus among the political parties.

The CEC came up with the observation while talking to journalists at his office in afternoon.

He told the journalists that a meeting of law enforcement agency would be held said on Thursday morning over parliamentary election.

Earlier in the day, Election Commissioner Brigadier General (retd) Javed Ali said the Election Commission would deploy army if require considering the law-and-order situation.
