PABNA (ISHWARDI): A Jubo Dal activist was killed and at least 10 others injured as a rashly driven truck rammed them during blockade hour Chand Alir Mor area of Chholimpur union under Ishwardi upazila of the district on Saturday evening.

The deceased was identified as Mahabul Hossain, 40, son of Choimuddin, hailed from Mirkamari village of Chholimpur union in the upazila.

Witnesses said Chholimpur Union BNP and Jubo Dal activists brought out a procession in support of the blockade around 6:30pm.

At one stage, the truck driver lost control over the steering and rammed the blockaders, leaving one person dead on the spot and ten others injured, witnesses added.

Officer-in-Charge of Ishwardi Thana Biman Kumar Das told banglanews that they sent the body to the morgue for an autopsy.

He added that the truck driver and helper fled the scene.
