DHAKA: Some 38 present lawmakers, senior leaders, even joint secretary general of Jatiya Party (JP) failed to submit nomination papers for the upcoming 10th general election Monday.

A source in the party confirmed the matter to banglanews.

JP source said that considering the matter, party’s chairman former President HM Ershad was reviewing plan for the next polls.

Ershad will step back from participating in next polls if the time for nomination submission is not extended.

Over the circumstances, JP election coordinator actor Sohel Rana said that election commission should be more practical.
