CHIITAGONG: A leader of Juba Dal, youth wing of BNP, was killed in a clash between blockade supporters and law enforcers in Mandaritola area under Sitakunda upazila of the district early Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Russell, 33, ward Juba Dal President of Hasnabad of the upazila.

Police sources said a clash erupted between picketers and police in Mandaritola area at around 1:30am, leaving Russell injured critically.

Later, he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning.

Confirming the matter, Sitakunda Thana Inspector (Investigation) Aminul Islam said that additional law enforcers were deployed in the area to avert further untoward situation.
