CHANDPUR: Former Home Minister Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, Awami League candidate for 10th general elections was unofficially declared as winner from Chandpur-1 constituency on Friday afternoon.

Chandpur Returning Officer M Ismail Hossain, also district magistrate, came up with the declaration at around 4:00pm Friday.

He also said none but MK Alamgir submitted nomination paper in the constituency.

Meanwhile, Dr Dipu Moni, on Thursday, was unofficially declared as winner from Chandpur-3 constituency as the nomination paper of independent candidate Advocate Ikbal-Bin-Bashar was cancelled and another independent candidate Mominullah Patwary withdrew his nomination paper.

Sources from deputy commissioner’s office confirmed the matter.
