DHAKA: Opposition BNP joint secretary general Salauddin Ahmed on Saturday urged the Election Commission (EC) to postpone the ‘farce’ elections.

The spokesperson for the party came up with the plea in a video message sent from an unknown location.

Salauddin Ahmed said, “Awami League wants to hold a unilateral election as it fears to election. So, we called upon the election commission to postpone the next general election that scheduled to be held on January 5 next.”

He also urged the government officials not to obey government order and do their duty impartially.

To topple the government through movement, he also urged country men to be united.
