DHAKA: Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) called dawn-to-dusk hartal for Sunday in Shariatpur, Khagrachhari and Sunamganj districts in protest against arrest of its president and general secretary.

Shariatpur District Chhatra Dal Convener Jamal Uddin Bidyut announced the hartal in the district for Sunday in a public meeting.

On the other hand, Khagrachhari district Chhatra Dal General Secretary Ibrahim Khalil called shutdown in the district for the day.

Besides, Sunamganj district Chatra Dal convener Nurul Islam Nurul announced the hartal in the district for Sunday in a press conference on Saturday noon.

Earlier, Detective Branch of Police personnel arrested Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) President Abdul Kader Bhuiyan Jewel and General Secretary Habibur Rashid Habib.
