KHULNA: At least 15 people were injured in a clash between Shibir men and police in Sonadanga sports complex area of the divisional city on Wednesday morning.

Locals said that centering Jamaat leader Quader Mollah’s execution Shibir activists tried to put blockade on road in the area at around 7:20am and blasted cocktails aiming police.

Meanwhile, police fired rubber bullets and shotgun bullets to bring the situation under control, leaving 15 people injured.

Confirming the matter, Metropolitan police Sonadanga Zone Assistants Commissioner of police Jobayer Hossain told banglanews, “Following the incident additional law enforcers were deployed in the area.”
