DHAKA: Sajib Wajed Joy, son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said that BNP and Jamaat have both declared war on Bangladesh.

He came up with the comment in his facebook status update at around 11:15 pm Wednesday.

The post reads as below—

“It appears that the BNP and Jamaat have both declared war on Bangladesh. Khaleda Zia’s advisor Shamser Mobin Chowdhury said in an interview to the BBC that there was a state of war in Bangladesh. BNP’s former Mayor Sadek Hossain Khoka was caught on tape instructing their activists to attack innocent civilians.

Now the past week Jamaat has been on the rampage. They have undertaken bomb attacks nationwide, including at Shahbagh. They have set fire to houses of judges and Awami League leaders, killed and tortured many of our activists and attacked police.

Today Indian Border Security Force has caught smugglers trying to bring explosives into Bangladesh. These smugglers are known to have brought in currency and other material support to terrorists in Bangladesh from Pakistan.

All of this is terrorism. These are the same activities Jamaat and the anti-liberation forces undertook in 1971 during our War of Liberation. Now 42 years later they are doing it again, still on behalf of Pakistan. Khaleda Zia herself has met with ISI agents in Singapore in the past few months.

The BNP has announced yet again that even though negotiations are ongoing, they will continue their attacks. Are we going to tolerate this?

This is our Victory Month. Are we going to tolerate the party of war criminals and their cronies attacking and killing our innocent civilians just as they did in 1971? We defeated them when they had the full backing of the Pakistan military. They will be defeated this time again.

I urge all pro-liberation forces to join us in stopping this BNP-Jamaat terrorism. We need to defeat these Rajakars once and for all.”
