TANGAIL: Police held three leaders of Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami from Pathailkandi area of Bhuapur upazila of the district early Saturday.

The detainees’ are-Jamuna Thana Shibir (north) president Mamun Talukdar, 25, Jamuna (south) Thana general secretary Suruzzaman, 22 and Upazila sub unit president Hafez Rezaul Karim, 23.

Bangabandhu Bridge (east) Thana Officer-in-Charge Monir Hossain told banglanews, “Apprehending subversive act, police in a drive held the three Shibir leaders from the area at around 2:00am.

The detainees were wanted in the case of attacking police and torching train. They were produced before Tangail court in the morning, he added.
