KHULNA: Jatiya Party (JP) called daylong hartal in the division for Saturday protesting arrest of party Chairman HM Ershad.

The announcement of the shutdown came after a JP protest rally in city’s Dakbangla intersection on Tuesday evening.

JP Khulna city unit President Abdul Gaffar Biswas, also former lawmaker, presided over the rally and made the announcement of the shutdown.

Senior party leaders also spoke in the rally and sought immediate release of JP chairman.

They urged the common people of Khulna to lend all out supports to the shutdown.
