BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was shifted to the CCU (Coronary Care Unit) of the Evercare Hospital, where she has been undergoing treatment, on Tuesday evening as her health condition worsened.
She was shifted to CCU from the cabin at 6:30 p.m. as her condition deteriorated further, BNP media cell member Sairul Kabir Khan said.
BNP Chairperson’s personal physician Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun, and her daughter-in-law Sharmila Rahman Sinthi were present.
Khaleda Zia has been undergoing treatment at the Evercare Hospital since August 9.
Earlier, Khaleda Zia was transferred to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) in the afternoon on September 29 and returned to cabin later.
The 78-year-old former prime minister has been suffering from various ailments, including liver cirrhosis, arthritis, diabetes, kidney, lung, heart, and eye problems.
Addressing a press conference at the Evercare hospital on Monday, her medical board claimed that she needs to be taken abroad for TIPS and liver transplantation immediately to save her life.
