DHAKA: Detective Branch (DB) police held Bajlul Karim Chowdhury Abed, acting president of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of opposition BNP, on Saturday afternoon.

A team of DB police detained the JCD leader from city’s Elephant Road area around 2:30pm while they were preparing for a procession centering BNP-led 18-party alliance called 83-hour blockade.

Dhaka University Chhatra Dal Organizing Secretary Minhajul Islam Bhuiyan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
