83-hr blockade enters day-2

DHAKA: The 83-hour blockade of 18-party alliance is underway across the country for second consecutive day on Sunday amid stray incidents of picketing.

The alliance is observing the blockade demanding cancellation of schedule of 10th general election.

Blockaders blasted 10 cocktails in capital’s Karwan Bazar area at around 7:00am.

None was reportedly injured in the incident.

Confirming the matter, Tejgaon thana SI SM Mohram Ali told banglanews that the drive is underway to nab the culprit.

Besides, apprehending subversive act police held 18 BNP-Shibir men in Sylhet and eight in Narayanganj.

Meanwhile, law enforcers were kept on alert position in various key points of the city to avert any subversive act.

The agitation programme started from 6:00am Saturday and will continue till 5:00pm Tuesday.
