The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has given permission to Awami League (AL) and BNP to hold their rallies at the capital's south gate of Baitul Mukarram and Nayapaltan respectively on Saturday (October 28).
DMP's Additional Commissioner (AC) (Crime and Operations) Dr Kh Mahid Uddin informed the matter to the journalist.
However, Jamaat-e-Islami did not receive the DMP's approval for their rally scheduled on the same day.
Earlier today, leaders and activists of BNP gathered in front of the party's central office at Nayapaltan in the capital ahead of tomorrow's rally.
They were seen chanting anti-government slogans, staging rallies riding on rickshaws on both sides of the road at Nayapaltan.
On the other hand, police set up a total 60 CCTV cameras near BNP's headquarters at Nayapaltan on Friday afternoon, ahead of the party's rally in the capital tomorrow.
DMP on Friday has taken highest security measures ahead of both AL and BNP rally to avoid any unwanted conflict.
Besides, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has strengthened security measures in the capital ahead of the rallies, scheduled to be held tomorrow, to prevent any untoward incident.
