A murder case was filed against Bangladesh National Party (BNP) men over the killing of a police constable during the clash between law enforcers and BNP men in Fakirapool area at Dhaka.
Paltan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salahuddin Mia said that a case has been filed in connection with the killing of a policeman.
Police filed the case as a plaintiff, he added.
However, he could not immediately confirm the number and names of the accused.
Earlier on October 28, two persons including police constable Amirul Islam Parvez were killed and several others injured during the clash.
The BNP organised its grand rally in front of its Nayapaltan central office on Saturday with the participation of thousands of leaders and activists of the party and its associate bodies to press home their one-point demand for holding the upcoming national election under a non-party government.
