83-hr blockade enters day-3

DHAKA: The 83-hour blockade of 18-party alliance is underway across the country for third consecutive day on Monday amid stray incidents of picketing.

The alliance is observing the blockade demanding cancellation of schedule of 10th general election.

Meanwhile, law enforcers were kept on alert position in various key points of the city to avert any subversive act.

The agitation programme started from 6:00am Saturday and will continue till 5:00pm Tuesday.

Besides, vehicles movement is increasing than the previous day of blockade and lives of city dwellers is becoming normal.

Earlier, BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan declared 83-hour blockade in a press conference at Gulshan office.
