Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Bangladesh National Party (BNP) Central Committee Co-Health Affairs Secretary SM Rafiqul Bacchu.

The 57-year-old BNP leader was arrested during a drive from Gazipur on Friday (November 24).

Commander (CO) of RAB-1 Lt. Col. Muhammad Moshtaq Ahmad confirmed the matter.

He said Rafiqul has been arrested as the prime accused in the car arson and explosives case at Sreepur in Gazipur district.

Further legal action against him is under process, he added.
