DHAKA: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed said Russia would not send any observer for the upcoming 10th parliamentary elections as they will observe holiday till January 11 for Christmas Day.

CEC came up with the disclosure while talking to journalists after a meeting at his Agargaon office with Russian ambassador to Bangladesh Nikolaev on Thursday afternoon.

Regarding BNP’s programme ‘March for Democracy’ on Sunday, he said there is no relation between election and the programme.
