BNP to hold countrywide 'black flag' processions today 

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is set to resume its nationwide "black flag" processions today (January 30) demanding the cancellation of the “dummy parliament" and new elections under a non-partisan caretaker government.

The processions will be held across all metropolitans, thanas, districts, upazila and municipalities.

Earlier, the leaders and activists of the party brought out a black flag procession in all district towns on January 26 and in metropolitan cities on January 27. 

BNP returned to street programmes after the January 7 general elections, with these two-day black-flag procession.

Today’s nationwide "black flag" will be the BNP's second street program after the 12th parliamentary election held on January 7.

The 12th parliament is set to go into its maiden session today.
