DINAJPUR: A local BNP leader was killed in a clash with police while attacking a polling centre to take control of it in the sadar upazila of the district at around 1:00am Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Babul Hossain, 40, president of ward-1 BNP of Chehelgazi union of the sadar upazila.

Confirming the matter, joint convener of district Chhatra Dal Moksedur Rahman said during the clash, Babul sustained a bullet injury in his head and died on the spot.

Sub-Inspector of sadar thana Mokhlesur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
