NILPHAMARI: A Jamaat activist was shot dead in a clash with police in Bepartali Alim Madrasa polling center under Khalisha Chapani Union of the district early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Jahangir Alam, 35, a lecturer of Khalisha Sotokhata Fazil Madrasa.

Sourceses said that Jamaat activists went to loot voting equipments from the center at around 02:00am and police protested them which triggered a clash, leaving a man dead on the spot.

Dimla Thana Officer-in-Charge confirmed the matter to banglanews.
