Some unidentified miscreants on Sunday (February 12) night stabbed dead a local Jubo League leader in Abhaynagar upazila of Jashore.

Deceased Murad Hossain was Jubo League general secretary of Ward 4 unit under Abhaynagar municipality.

According to police, miscreants equipped with locally-made sharp weapons swooped on Murad on his way home from a local market around 10:00pm, leaving him critically injured.

Later, when Murad was rushed to Abhaynagar health complex, the doctor on duty declared him dead, said police. 

Abhaynagar Police Station's Officer-in-Charge (SM) Atikul Islam confirmed the matter. 

The body was kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC said.

No case was filed and no one was detained in this connection till this morning, the OC said.
