DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia Saturday termed the 10th parliament a ‘Doll House’.
He came up with the observation while addressing discussion meeting on ‘extra-judicial killing, fundamental rights and general election’ at the National Press Club.
Pointing out remarks made by ministers about BNP’s missing of the ‘train’ of the 10th JS polls, he said, “The incumbent parliament is a doll house…So, the ‘train’ you are talking about is not a ‘train’ of election. It was a ‘train’ for the passengers of a doll’s house.”
He also said, “If BNP got up in that ‘train’, the numbers of passengers would increase only and there was no benefit of the party.”
Barrister Rafiqul also alleged that Awami League conspired with the people through the election commission by holding the January 5 polls.
The senior BNP leader also said that no country accepted the 10th general polls.
He urged all the opposition parties to be united and work together to oust the government and compel them to arrange an exclusive polls.
With the Jatiyatabadi Karmajibi Dal president Haji M Liton in the chair, the discussion meeting was also addressed, among others, by BNP executive committee member ABM Mosharraf Hossain, office secretary Shamimur Rahman Shamim and president of Swadhinata Forum Abu Naser M Rahmatullah.
