DHAKA: Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Monday said there would be no crisis of fertilizers in the current season as there is adequate stock of the agriculture input.
In response to a question from treasury bench member M Abdul Latif, he told the House that Ashuganj Fertilizer Factory remained closed from July 1, 2013 to January 3, 2014 due to technical glitch in the factory and non-availability of gas supply from Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Ltd.
Amu said the ministry has a stock of necessary equipments, including compressors, pumps and boilers, to keep the Ashuganj Fertilizer Factory fit for production.
Trained people are monitoring the factory round the clock, the House was told.
