RAJSHAHI: Law enforcers submitted a chargesheet against 36 leaders and activists of Jamaat-Shibir including Dr Jahangir and Emajuddin Mandal in a case of attacking cops at Rajshai in February 2013.

Investigation officer of the case Sub-Inspector (SI) of Boalia Thana Amirul Islam submitted the chargesheet to the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Tuesday but disclosed the matter on Thursday.

On February 15, 2013, metropolitan Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists brought out a protest procession in Hetom Kha area of the city and tried to create panic among the people by obstructing people’s movement and vehicular haulage.

Boalia Thana SI Shahidul Islam went there and urged them to stop.

At a stage, Jamaat-Shibir men attacked police and blasted cocktails, leaving some cops injured.

Police filed a case with the thana in this connection.
