DHAKA: The sitting of the first session of the 10th parliament resumed Sunday afternoon after four-day break.
The parliament session began at 4:30pm with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
On January 29 in the inaugural session of the new parliament, President M Abdul Hamid addressed lawmakers for 40 minutes urging political parties that had boycotted the national polls to help build a consensus by shunning the path of anarchy to enhance the democratic traditions of Bangladesh by shunning communal and terrorist organizations.
On Tuesday, the Speaker of the House adjourned the House on 7th working day till 4:30pm Sunday.
In the eighth working day, ministers will join general question-answer session; discuss important issues under the provision of 71, join talks on thanks giving proposals about the President’s speech.
Jatiya Party, as part of the government and main opposition party, joined the parliament, from the first day of the maiden session.
