DHAKA: BNP Standing Committee member Rafiqul Islam Mia on Saturday alleged that the country being ruled by non-elected government.

The senior leader of the party came up with the allegation while addressing a human-chain program at the National Press Club.

He said: “As per the definition of democracy, the tenth parliament is not a democratic parliament. So, as soon as possible, new election is required with the participation of all parties.”

“A debate was held at British Parliament on the ridiculous election of Bangladesh. They have said that no election was held on 153 constituencies and only ten percent votes were cast in rest of the seats.”

With Dhaka District Chhatra Dal President Rezaul Karim in the chair, the program was also addressed, among others, by BNP Chairperson’s advisor and former Minister Abdul Mannan and Executive Committee member Abu Hafiz.
